The inclusion of glycine facilitates the design of peptides with enhanced conformational flexibility and reduced steric hindrance, making it crucial in bioactive peptide synthesis. The HMPA linker is stable under peptide elongation conditions and can be selectively cleaved under acidic conditions (e.g., with TFA) to release the synthesized peptide.
