Fmoc-Sieber-Polystyrene Resin (Fmoc-Sieber-PS Resin / 9-(9-Fluorenylmethyloxycarbonylamino)-9H-xanthen-3-yl-oxymethylpolystyrene) is a highly acid-labile solid support used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and small-molecule synthesis. It is particularly advantageous for synthesizing peptides with acid-sensitive sequences or for producing protected peptide fragments that require mild cleavage conditions. The Sieber linker provides a unique balance of stability during peptide elongation while allowing for the selective release of peptides under extremely mild acidic conditions, such as 1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in dichloromethane (DCM). Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
