H-Cys(StBu)-2-CT Polystyrene Resin is composed of a polystyrene resin backbone with a 2-chlorotrityl (2-CT) linker and features cysteine protected by an S-tert-butyl (StBu) group. Its combination of selective thiol protection, mild cleavage conditions, and compatibility with post-synthetic modifications makes it invaluable for producing bioactive peptides, cyclic peptides, and peptide conjugates. The StBu group prevents the cysteine thiol from undergoing unwanted oxidation or side reactions during synthesis, ensuring the integrity of the protected amino acid. The polystyrene matrix, cross-linked with divinylbenzene, ensures the resin is resistant to swelling, shrinking, and mechanical degradation, even under harsh SPPS conditions.
