Description

H-Lys(Boc)-Chlorotrityl Polystyrene Resin is mainly used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), particularly when lysine is part of the peptide sequence. The Boc-protected lysine is attached to the resin to serve as the starting point in synthesizing peptides, where subsequent amino acids are added in a stepwise manner. Additionally, the chlorotrityl group allows for the easy cleavage of peptides from the resin. After the peptide has been synthesized, the final peptide is cleaved from the resin by mild cleavage conditions (usually using acid). The Boc group on lysine can also be removed using acidic conditions (like TFA, trifluoroacetic acid), ensuring that the lysine side chain amino group is free for further reactions or for peptide maturation. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
