Description

H-Trp(Boc)-Chlorotrityl Polystyrene Resin is useful for synthesizing peptides that contain tryptophan (Trp), as it includes a Boc-protected tryptophan residue (H-Trp(Boc)) at the N-terminal position. The Boc group protects the amine of the tryptophan residue from unwanted reactions during peptide chain elongation. The Boc protection is stable during peptide elongation steps, but it can be removed later in the process with a mild acid treatment (e.g., 50% TFA or a TFA-based cleavage cocktail) when the synthesis is complete. This allows for the controlled incorporation of tryptophan at the desired position in the peptide sequence. Polystyrene resin is an essential material for a wide range of uses in research, diagnostics, medical devices, and multiple industial applications from packaging to construction.
