Description

HO-apeg4-oh n-biotin or N-(Biotin)-N-bis(PEG1-alcohol) involves a PEG chain (HO-apeg4-oh) with biotin attached via a linker (“n”). PEG derivatives are often used in bioconjugation and drug delivery due to their biocompatibility and solubility properties. The hydroxyl groups can be further modified or activated for conjugation with other molecules. Biotin is a small molecule that binds strongly to avidin and streptavidin proteins, commonly used as a tag in biochemical assays and protein purification. HO-apeg4-oh n-biotin can be used for labeling proteins. The biotin moiety can bind to streptavidin or avidin, facilitating detection or purification of biotinylated proteins. By conjugating therapeutic agents to HO-apeg4-oh n-biotin, targeted drug delivery systems can be designed where the biotin moiety targets specific receptors or molecules on cells or tissues.
