MeO-2PACz or 2-(3,6-Dimethoxycarbazol-9-yl)ethylphosphonic acid is a small molecule consisting of a carbazole core substituted with a phenylazopyridine group and a methoxy (MeO) functional group. The phenylazopyridine moiety is responsible for the absorption of light in the visible spectrum, making MeO-2PACz suitable as a photosensitizer. This compound is primarily used as a photosensitizer or light-absorbing material in organic electronics, particularly in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic photovoltaics (OPVs).
