Mono-(6-ethanediamine-6-deoxy)-β-Cyclodextrin (2N-βCD) is a β-cyclodextrin derivative where the hydroxyl group at the C6 position of one glucose unit has been substituted with an ethylenediamine group. The two amine groups in 2N-βCD improve its interaction with negatively charged DNA or RNA, making it an effective carrier for gene delivery. The flexibility of the ethylenediamine spacer facilitates better complexation and cellular uptake, leading to improved transfection efficiency.
