Description

mPEG-b-P(LA-g-PTX)-b-PCL is a block copolymer consisting of methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (mPEG), poly(lactic acid) with paclitaxel (PTX) grafts (P(LA-g-PTX)), and polycaprolactone (PCL). The paclitaxel-grafted PLA block allows for targeted delivery of the chemotherapeutic agent. The mPEG block enhances solubility and circulation time, while the PCL block can assist in controlled release, ensuring prolonged exposure to the drug at the target site. In addition, PLA and PCL are biodegradable, making the copolymer suitable for use in temporary scaffolds that degrade over time.
