mPEG-PLA-COOH (Methoxy Poly(ethylene glycol)-b-Poly(lactide)-Carboxylic acid) is a copolymer which is composed of PEG, PLA and COOH group. PEG is a hydrophilic and biocompatible polymer that is often used to improve the solubility and biocompatibility of materials. The methoxy group in mPEG enhances its stealth properties, reducing recognition by the immune system. PLA is a biodegradable and biocompatible polyester derived from renewable resources. It is commonly used in drug delivery and tissue engineering applications due to its controlled biodegradability. The presence of the carboxylic acid group adds chemical functionality to the copolymer. Carboxylic acid groups can participate in various chemical reactions, including bioconjugation.
