PDLLA-mPEG (Poly(D,L-lactide)-PEG-methyl ether) is employed as carriers for nucleic acid delivery in gene therapy applications. The copolymer can condense DNA or RNA into nanoparticles through electrostatic interactions, protecting the nucleic acids from degradation and facilitating their cellular uptake.
