Description

PDLLA-PEG-ALK (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-poly(ethylene glycol)-alkyne) is a copolymer composed of two different monomer units: D,L-lactide and ethylene glycol, with an alkyne functional group at one end. Poly(D,L-lactide) is derived from D,L-lactide monomers. D,L-lactide is a cyclic diester composed of lactic acid units. It can polymerize to form polylactic acid (PLA), a biodegradable polymer widely used in medical implants, drug delivery systems, and tissue engineering. The alkyne group provides a site for further functionalization through click chemistry reactions, such as copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC), enabling the attachment of various molecules or biomolecules to the copolymer.
