PDLLA-PEG-MAL (Poly(D,L-lactide)-b-Poly(ethylene glycol)-Maleimide) can serve as a scaffold or matrix for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. The biodegradable PDLLA component provides mechanical support and degrades over time to allow for tissue regeneration. The PEG component enhances hydrophilicity and reduces protein adsorption, minimizing inflammation and promoting cell compatibility. The maleimide functional group enables the conjugation of bioactive molecules, growth factors, or cell-adhesive peptides to modulate cell behavior and tissue regeneration.
