PEI Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (Polyethyleneimine-Coated Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles, Iron Oxide (II,III), Fe3O4, Magnetite) are commonly used for the delivery of nucleic acids (e.g., DNA, siRNA) to target cells in gene therapy applications. PEI is biocompatible to a certain extent, and when used in controlled amounts, it enhances the biocompatibility of iron oxide nanoparticles.
