Description

PG-based Fluoroliposome-Azide, Lyophilized Powder is designed for highly specific applications in both research and clinical settings. Phosphatidylglycerol serves as the core lipid. Its structure includes a glycerol backbone with a phosphate group, esterified to a fatty acid tail. PG is particularly useful in forming stable liposomal membranes, especially in the presence of membrane-active compounds or in certain cellular contexts (e.g., bacterial membranes). The azide group (-N₃) is incorporated as part of the lipid headgroup or via a functionalized lipid. This allows for subsequent reactions with alkynes through the copper-catalyzed click chemistry reaction (CuAAC) or other bioorthogonal reactions, enabling conjugation with targeting molecules, drugs, or biomolecules without interfering with cellular processes.
