PG contributes a negatively charged headgroup to the liposomal surface, aiding in the encapsulation of positively charged molecules and improving interactions with target cells. This charge also enhances the electrostatic interaction with positively charged therapeutic molecules, contributing to higher encapsulation efficiency. NBD (Nitrobenzoxadiazole) lipid, with a fluorescent group attached to the fatty acid tail, provides a unique means for tracking liposomal dynamics within biological systems. DBCO is a bioorthogonal functional group that allows copper-free click chemistry with azide-functionalized molecules, enabling the covalent attachment of various ligands or therapeutic agents to the liposomal surface.
