Description

Plain Liposomes made from Cationic DOPC:Chol:DOTAP:DOPE-PEG(2000), Lyophilized Powder have broad applications in gene therapy, RNA interference, drug delivery, and even in the development of lipid-based vaccines. DOPC is a commonly used phospholipid with two unsaturated oleoyl chains. It is highly fluid and maintains membrane flexibility. This characteristic makes DOPC a good component in liposomes that require the ability to fuse with cell membranes during the delivery of their cargo, such as in gene therapy or drug delivery systems. DOTAP is a cationic lipid that imparts a positive charge to the liposome’s surface. This cationic charge facilitates the electrostatic interaction of the liposome with negatively charged biomolecules, such as DNA, RNA, or siRNA. The PEGylation enhances the liposome’s stability in biological environments by reducing protein adsorption and minimizing immune clearance.
