Plain Natural Saturated Egg PC:Cholesterol Liposomes, Lyophilized Powder are effective at encapsulating and delivering nucleic acids such as DNA, RNA, and siRNA. These liposomes protect the genetic material from enzymatic degradation while facilitating its delivery into target cells. They are used in gene therapy for treating genetic disorders, including cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and certain types of cancer. In addition, liposomes made from saturated egg PC and cholesterol can deliver chemotherapeutic agents or immunotherapies directly to cancer cells. These liposomes can be designed to target tumor cells specifically through surface modifications, such as attaching targeting ligands that bind to overexpressed tumor markers.
