Plain Unsaturated 16:1 (Δ9-Trans) PC: Cholesterol Liposomes, Lyophilized Powder result in liposomes with a rigid and stable membrane, which is beneficial in applications where controlled drug release and long-circulating properties are desired. These liposomes are well-suited for the encapsulation of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic therapeutic agents. The rigid membrane structure of these liposomes can allow for slower drug release rates, as the relatively tight packing of the lipid molecules prevents premature leakage of the encapsulated drug. The unsaturated lipid nature, coupled with cholesterol, enhances the ability to encapsulate a wide range of drugs (both lipophilic and hydrophilic) while maintaining their stability.
