Plain Unsaturated 18:1 (Δ9-Trans) PC: Cholesterol Liposomes, Lyophilized Powder are lipid-based vesicles composed of 18:1 (Δ9-trans) phosphatidylcholine (PC), a trans-unsaturated fatty acid, and cholesterol. The trans double bond in the fatty acid chain results in a rigid, stable membrane compared to liposomes made from cis-unsaturated fatty acids. The addition of cholesterol further stabilizes the membrane, reducing permeability and enhancing membrane integrity. These liposomes are used in a variety of applications, including drug delivery, gene therapy, vaccine development, and diagnostic imaging, due to their ability to encapsulate both hydrophilic and lipophilic compounds, providing controlled release, sustained stability, and targeted delivery.
