Plain Unsaturated 20:1 (Cis) PC: Cholesterol Liposomes, Lyophilized Powder involve the use of 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC), a phospholipid with 20-carbon unsaturated fatty acid chains (oleic acid) at both the sn-1 and sn-2 positions, combined with cholesterol, which is a sterol widely used to modulate membrane fluidity, stability, and permeability. The fluidity of DOPC-based liposomes makes them ideal for encapsulating hydrophilic, hydrophobic, or amphiphilic drugs. The ability to incorporate both lipophilic and aqueous-phase compounds increases their versatility as drug delivery systems.
