PLLA-mPEG (Poly(L-lactide)-PEG-methyl ether) can be immobilized onto surfaces of biomaterials, nanoparticles, or medical devices to improve their biocompatibility and reduce protein adsorption and cell adhesion. The mPEG segments create a hydrated layer on the surface, preventing nonspecific interactions with biomolecules and cells, thereby enhancing device performance and reducing the risk of thrombosis and infection.
