Description

PLLA-mPEG (Poly(L-lactide)-PEG-methyl ether) is employed in nanomedicine for targeted drug delivery and imaging applications. The hydrophobic core of PLLA-mPEG nanoparticles encapsulates drugs or imaging agents, while the PEG shell stabilizes the particles in physiological conditions and promotes stealth properties. PLLA-mPEG nanoparticles can passively target tumor tissues through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect or be actively targeted using ligands attached to the PEG chains, enabling precise drug delivery and imaging in cancer therapy and diagnostics.
