Description

Poly(L-lysine hydrobromide) (PLL HBr) is a linear polymer composed of lysine monomers linked together through peptide bonds. Lysine is one of the 20 standard amino acids found in proteins. The hydrobromide salt form of polylysine adds a bromide ion to the amino groups, enhancing its solubility in water. It is generally considered biocompatible and non-toxic, which makes it suitable for use in gene transfection, surface coating, as well as DNA & RNA binding.
