Poly(L-lysine hydrochloride) (PLL HCL) is a linear polymer composed of lysine monomers linked together by peptide bonds. Lysine is one of the 20 standard amino acids found in proteins. The hydrochloride (HCl) salt form of polylysine adds a chloride ion to the amino groups, enhancing its solubility in water. It has been used to coat surfaces for various purposes, such as enhancing the binding of molecules or facilitating cell adhesion in tissue engineering applications.
