Description

Poly(N-vinyl caprolactam) exhibits a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) around 32-34°C in water. Below this temperature, it is soluble and hydrated, but above this temperature, it undergoes a phase transition, becoming insoluble and forming a precipitate. In addition, it is generally biocompatible, which makes it suitable for biomedical applications, such as drug delivery and tissue engineering.
