Polystyrene A FP (4-Formyl-phenoxyethyl Polystyrene Resin) is suitable for biomolecule immobilization. Aldehyde groups readily form stable covalent bonds with the amino groups of proteins, peptides, or antibodies. This makes Polystyrene A FP ideal for creating affinity columns, enzyme reactors, or diagnostic tools, where biomolecules need to be attached to a solid support while retaining their biological activity. The aldehyde groups in Polystyrene A FP can also serve as reactive sites for catalytic reactions. For instance, it can be used as a support for metal catalysts or as a reactive site in organic transformations. The aldehyde group can interact with nucleophiles in catalytic processes such as the formation of carbon-carbon bonds, aldol reactions, or nucleophilic addition to carbonyl compounds.
