Polystyrene A PHB is primarily used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), where peptides are synthesized one amino acid at a time. The primary amine group on the resin acts as an anchor point for the peptide chain. The free amine group can form stable bonds with N-terminal amino acids or other reagents, allowing the peptide chain to grow stepwise on the resin. The benefit of using Aminoethyl Wang Resin is that it can improve the efficiency of amide bond formation by providing a more accessible nucleophilic site compared to other resins.
