Polystyrene AM HMPA (Aminomethyl Polystyrene functionalized with a 4-(hydroxymethyl)-phenoxyacetic acid linker) has found applications in catalysis, where it serves as a support for metal catalysts or as a base catalyst for various organic reactions. The amine group in the resin can act as a base catalyst in reactions such as aldol condensations, Michael additions, and cross-coupling reactions. The hydroxymethyl group on the HMPA linker can also facilitate catalyst immobilization, enhancing the recyclability and stability of catalysts in continuous-flow reactions or batch processes.
