Description

PS-based Fluoroliposome-Cyanine 5 lipid, Lyophilized Powder has a variety of biomedical applications, including targeted drug delivery, cancer therapy, biosensing, and advanced fluorescence imaging. Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an anionic phospholipid that is generally found in the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane in normal cells. However, under certain conditions such as apoptosis, PS is translocated to the outer leaflet, making it a marker of apoptotic cells. Cyanine 5 (Cy5) is a highly fluorescent dye that belongs to the cyanine dye family. It has a strong absorption peak around 650 nm and a characteristic emission peak around 670 nm (in the near-infrared range). When conjugated to lipid molecules (e.g., via the amine or carboxyl groups of the lipid headgroup), Cy5 can be incorporated into liposomes, providing a sensitive and easily detectable fluorescence signal.
