Description

PS-based Fluoroliposome-DiA-Azide, Lyophilized Powder enables precise targeting, imaging, and functionalization of liposomes for drug delivery, vaccine development, gene therapy, and cellular interaction studies. Phosphatidylserine (PS) is an anionic phospholipid commonly found on the inner leaflet of cell membranes. When used in liposomes, PS imparts special characteristics, such as enhancing cell-cell interactions and promoting uptake by immune cells, particularly phagocytic cells like macrophages and dendritic cells. PS exposure is also associated with apoptotic cells, making PS-based liposomes useful in targeted drug delivery to immune cells or in immunotherapies. DiA (1,1′-dioctadecyl-3,3,3′,3′-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate) is a lipophilic fluorescent dye that is often used to label the lipid bilayer of liposomes. DiA is excited by light in the green spectrum and emits in the red spectrum, making it useful for visualizing liposomes in various assays. Azide groups are highly reactive and can undergo click reactions with alkyne-functionalized molecules, allowing for specific and controlled attachment of biomolecules, such as antibodies, peptides, or small molecules, to the liposome surface.
