Description

Sulfo DBCO-PEG3-NHS ester is a variant of DBCO-NHS ester that includes a sulfonate (SO3-) group and a shorter PEG (polyethylene glycol) linker of three units (PEG3). The sulfonate (SO3-) group increases the water solubility of the compound, making Sulfo DBCO-PEG3-NHS ester easier to handle and dissolve in aqueous buffers. This is particularly advantageous for labeling biomolecules under physiological conditions. Sulfo DBCO-PEG3-NHS ester reacts specifically with azide-functionalized molecules via copper-free click chemistry. This bioorthogonal reaction is fast and selective, allowing for efficient conjugation of biomolecules without interfering with biological processes.
