Description

TCO-PEG4-DBCO can be used for bioconjugation purposes, particularly for linking molecules that have been modified with tetrazine-functionalized compounds. This reaction is useful for site-specific labeling of biomolecules and studying biological interactions. TCO is a strained alkene molecule that reacts selectively and rapidly with tetrazine-functionalized molecules via the inverse-electron demand Diels-Alder (IEDDA) reaction. This reaction is bioorthogonal, meaning it can occur selectively in biological systems without interfering with native biochemical processes. DBCO is a reactive group used in bioconjugation reactions, specifically in copper-free click chemistry (strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition, SPAAC).
