TCO-PSMA (Trans-cyclooctene-Prostate-specific membrane antigen) is a conjugate that combines trans-cyclooctene (TCO) with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein commonly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. TCO-PSMA can be used to deliver cytotoxic agents selectively to prostate cancer cells. By attaching chemotherapeutics or radioisotopes to azide-modified compounds, researchers can exploit the specificity of PSMA for targeted treatment. Besides, the TCO moiety can be utilized to develop immunotherapeutic approaches by conjugating PSMA to immune-modulating agents, enhancing the immune response against prostate cancer cells.
