Description

TCO-thioredoxin is a fusion of trans-cyclooctene (TCO) with thioredoxin, a small protein that acts as a redox-active chaperone, reducing disulfide bonds in other proteins and playing a critical role in cellular redox homeostasis. TCO-thioredoxin can be used to label thioredoxin specifically using bio-orthogonal chemistry. The TCO group reacts with tetrazine-functionalized probes or labels, allowing for targeted tagging of the thioredoxin protein. Besides, the labeled thioredoxin can be used to investigate its redox activity, interactions with other proteins, and its role in cellular redox regulation. This provides insights into the mechanisms of redox signaling and oxidative stress.
